About the Doctor

Christopher E. Roncone, DDS, MS

 

Dr. Christopher Roncone grew up in southern California where at the age of 16 he graduated from Vista High School as the youngest and one of the first International Baccalaureate candidates in the school's history.  After attending college at the University of Southern California, Dr. Roncone earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1996 where he served as both Class and Student Body President.  While attending UCLA, he was selected to complete an oral and maxillofacial surgery externship at the VA Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.  He subsequently received his specialty certificate in Orthodontics after completing a three-year postdoctoral residency at the University of Southern California in 1999 where he served as Chief Resident.  While specializing in orthodontics, he concurrently earned a Master of Science degree in Craniofacial Biology.

Dr. Roncone is highly regarded in the orthodontic community and
lectures professionally to colleagues both domestically and internationally on such topics as temporary orthodontic implants, lingual orthodontic mechanotherapy and retention, and the use of diode lasers as an orthodontic adjunct.  He is a recognized expert in the surgical placement of orthodontic implants and has been published in peer-reviewed journals detailing the etiology, prevention and management of implant complications.

Dr. Roncone has been President of the San Diego Academy of Orthodontists since 2010, serves on the Board of Directors for the California Association of Orthodontists, and was inducted as a Fellow to the prestigious World Federation of Orthodontists in 2011.  He is a visiting lecturer at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry, Department of Orthodontics as well as an editorial board member for the Mexican Journal of Orthodontics.

Dr. Roncone is married to Dr. Tinou Roncone, a periodontist, and they're proud parents to Nicky and Matthew.  In his spare time, Dr. Roncone enjoys skiing, golf, scuba diving and is a general aviation enthusiast.
